Taormina - most photographed day of the tour

Stephanie surprised us with some treats from Pasticceria Minotauro-> to enjoy on our way to the theater. She even trusted Jessica to carry them.

“Our pastry shop is a sweet poem, which has a goal:

Enchant the eyes

Amaze the palate

Leave a trace in the memory of taste.”

Public Gardens (Giardini della Villa Comunale)

Not sure what the story was about the statue sitting on the bench but didn’t want to leave it out. It seemed strange to see a blooming poinsettia in Taormina in November.

Free Afternoon to explore

After grabbing lunch we took the cableway to Mazzarò Beach.

Taxi Ride to Castelmola and Madonna della Rocca

After coming back from the beach Jessica ran into fellow Rick Steves travelers, and we all took a taxi to Castelmola and Modonna della Rocca above Taormina, while Pat and Jeff got some more gelato.

Villa Zuccaro Pizza Lesson with award winning Pizza Chef and Dinner

Stephanie described the pizza making process as Jessica was mixing the pizza dough. This was one of the highlights of the trip for Jessica. We enjoyed several different kinds of pizzas. The last picture in the above gallery is cactus, it was prepared differently than how we previously tried it in Arizona.

Awards displayed at Villa Zuccaro. They also happened to have tartufo which Jessica enjoyed while watching the World Cup.
